Norman & Debs in the Beginning…..
March 2020 , not only our country but the world was rocked by the pandemic. It forced us , like the many others , to rethink income sources.
Norman built himself a little diode laser engraver and slowly started building a reputation as engraver. Covid prevented a lot of customer engagement, but at this stage, Debs was
working full time and part-time painting… and they frequently worked together on projects under the name “Norm-n- D Studios”. As more customers wanted bigger and better engravings and 3 dimensional projects, Norman quickly realised that the modest
equipment he had built was inadequate.
Through out the different levels of Lockdown, their services filled a small gap in the market, and as word spread about the quality of work, business expanded rapidly.. and Norm and Debs invested in an industrial laser – affectionally naming it “Laser Lily” – and
Norman Etch was born
Debs retired in early 2023 and they decided to turn their double garage into a proper working space. The Studio was renovated, tiled and painted. Sparkling with a new jacket, and able to invite customers into Norman Etch to showoff our products and have a chat with you, our customers.
Soon after , as business increased, another two laser machines were added to the creativeness….and Big Bertha and Fibre Fred joined the Norman Etch team.

The main objective of Norman Etch Studios is straightforward: quality is something we will never compromise on. We also work hard to make sure that every customer is satisfied with the products they have purchased because this will leave a positive impression. Debs continues to paint whenever she gets the chance and does the office work. Norman Etch enjoys working with clients to come up with the precise solution they need, constantly aiming to exceed their expectations.
